Question
01

What do you want to achieve with your work?

Providing food for thought to get stuck debates moving again. If I can contribute to a canon of ideas that ultimately makes society a little bit fairer, that's not so bad.

Question
02

Is there any finding from your research that has caused you to rethink your views?

Between institutions and path dependencies, for a long time I have underestimated the political influence of individuals. Individuals are able to make more of a difference than we often admit—and political decisions are often concealed behind supposed constraints.

Question
03

If your job were an animal, which one would it be and why?

A platypus: a colorful mix of facets that you would normally associate with other creatures, but which come together to form something truly unique.
